The New Guy!

I thought I'd post an introduction before posting any threads here. My name is Shawn, I live in North Carolina (from So. Cal) and am 21 years old. I am into hot rods, custom motorcycles, drums, guitar, recording, etc. I own too many old cars and motorcycles (triple the amount of girlfriends I've ever had haha). Anyways I just started getting into stocks about 1.5 years ago and did the Investopedia Stock Simulator. I was doing pretty good with the stock simulator so started a Scottrade account and want to use real money now. I am only able to start with about $2500 bucks. I've had a few people tell me that it's not worth starting with that much and I need at least $8000-$15,000 bucks but my theory is it's better to start with only $2500 than let that $2500 sit in the bank doing nothing. I want to do some long term investments/stocks and also use a little bit of that money on some more risky stocks to earn money quicker. I've joined this forum to learn more, get advice and eventually one day help others out and give them advice once I learn more.

Nice to have you here, and I hope we can all be helpful on your journey to financial freedom!! Although you might not make much money with only $2500, the experience will be well worth it. It is better to start small and work your way into big money. Hope to talk to you soon!
